Gait gains

Gait gains

If the Olympics has inspired you to brush off your running trainers, or perhaps you’re planning to start training for a marathon, don’t underestimate the importance of having the right pair of running shoes.

If you’ve not had your gait analysed (the way you move your feet, ankles, knees and hips when walking or running) before, or haven't had it checked for a few years this should be your first port of call before hitting the pavement or treadmill. Choose running shoes suitable not only for your individual gait to help correct any imbalances, but also shoes suitable for the type of terrain you’ll be running on. Visit a specialist running shop offering gait analysis, or if you have a history of injury, seek advice from your physic or therapist before choosing your shoes.
