Alcohol benefits over played

If you’re someone who regularly enjoys a glass of ‘medicinal’ red wine, you may not be pleased to hear that recent evidence has found that the benefits of ‘alcohol in moderation’ have been overstated.

Research published in the British Medical Journal (BMJ) has concluded that the health benefits of alcohol at any level are very small and only seen in men between 50 and 64 years old and women over 65 years. The message is that abstaining is still healthier overall but if you are to enjoy alcohol, stay below the recommended units.
