More than itchy skin

For psoriasis sufferers, the condition is more than just an uncomfortable inconvenience – it can seriously affect quality of life. Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that causes raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin. There is a large genetic link, although other factors such as smoking, infections and certain medications can trigger the onset of psoriasis, or cause flare ups. 

Stress is often a big trigger of psoriasis so it’s important for people experiencing psoriasis to practice stress management techniques. Meditation, exercise and a healthy diet can help to improve stress levels and hence help reduce outbreaks of.
